Lens Extra Treatment

Anti-Reflective (AR):

Anti-reflective coating is a thin multilayer added on your lens that eliminates reflections from the front and back surface of eyeglass lenses. It makes your lenses nearly invisible so people can focus on your eyes, not distracting reflections from your eyeglasses. Lenses with the anti-reflective coating provide higher transmittance of the light which prevents the eyeglass users from an eyestrain. Each anti-recflective layer eliminates a glint of particular colour rays. It is not technically possible to produce a lens which would fully embrace the colour range. Nonetheless, the more anti-reflective layers the lens has, the higher is the elimination of the ray glint. This treating is highly recommended for ALL eyeglass lenses.

The first picture shows the lenses without the anti-reflective coating while the second one shows the lenses that contain the coating. The last picture then shows both the types of the lenses in one pair of glasses as a comparison.

Scratch Resistant (SRC):

Eyeglass lenses that are treated front and back with a clear, hard coating do become much more scratch resistant. Today, most types of plastic have a built in scratch-resistant coating

UV Protective:

An ultraviolet treatment coating is not visible to the naked eye, but works to protect vision much like sunscreen prevents skin damage from the sun

Tinted:

Coating eyeglasses with a slight tint may improve cosmetic appearance of the wearer or can even slightly improve vision. Yellow tinting is known to increase visual contrast and other colors offer different degrees of aid for vision. Some tints are purely for style or fashion and can even reduce the appearance of wrinkles around your eyes. Tinted coatings are best applied to plastic lenses Polarizing

Photochromic:

Photochromic coated lenses, such as the Transitions line, adjust to the level of ultraviolet light around you. Photochromic lenses also protect the eyes from the sun by darkening as needed, for those who like the convenience of having both sunglasses and clear lenses all encompassed in one pair of glasses
